Running on your period

Okay, let’s say it how it is – you feel like your ovaries are having a boxing match and all you want to do is curl up on the sofa with a hot water bottle and a big bar of Cadbury Dairy Milk and watch Netflix…

Here’s the thing:

You’ll feel infinitely better if instead, you put on your comfy leggings (you’re wearing them anyway right?), lace up your trainers and get out there for a blast!

It might only be slow or short but ultimately those endorphins are THE best pain killers, antidepressants and general mood elevators that money simply cannot buy! Best of all?

You’ll typically find that your cramps will ease and you’ll sleep better too! Not keen on chaffing sanitary towels, leaking tampons or the granny pant wedgie - the usual Kerfuffle? Well we have some ideas for that too! Our motivation for developing KuuCup was our discovery of menstrual cups in general and their distinct advantage where all things sporty is concerned. Because they’re non-absorbent they don’t cause the same discomfort a tampon often does and their high capacity means you are far less likely to have any leakage (once you get the hang of them). You literally can’t feel them at all once correctly fitted AND the seal created around the rim means they create a vacuum that keeps them in place no matter how hard you work out!

Of course we understand that internal solutions are not for everyone so we’re working on a cloth pad design that will stay put and keep you comfortable too! If you haven’t done any running before OR you’ve not been active for a while, we recommend starting out with couch to 5k. There are several great apps that are free to download and use on both iOS and Android. We love Zen Labs but the NHS is great too!

If you have any questions about how to get started just drop us a message at info@kuucup.com
